part b — you, the blogger

This is my second year actively blogging, and I can say I am far more comfortable and confident in my blog than I was last year. My theme, last year, would sort of jump all over the place, and my photos would not always flow together nicely. As well as becoming more acquainted with how the website itself can be run and organized, I have a far clearer idea of what I want to present on my blog and how I want to present it. I have developed a theme and flow to my blog that I did not previously possess.

I believe the strongest element of my blog is the aesthetics of it, the cohesion that I have worked towards having. The header and images play off of a colour palette of reds, whites, blacks, and greys, and create a pleasing page to view. The organization of it, with the inclusion of a table of contents and the overall neatness of the page, are also elements that I am proud to say my blog possesses. In terms of elements I could improve on, I believe my tagging of posts could be more in-depth – I struggle, at times, to classify my posts and developing this skill further would lead to an easier time for readers to view themes they’d like to view.

I hope to, after this course, update my blog at least twice a month, whether that be with creative pieces, personal pieces, or even flash poetry. I didn’t do a very good job of this after our course ended last year, but I enjoy publishing my work, and so my goal this time around is to try and be as active as possible in terms of posting pieces and updating my site.

I would continue to follow classmates that have, at any point during this year, inspired me or awed me with their writing. Some are close friends, and some are acquaintances I admire, but I hope to continue following Emily, Harmehar, Victoria, Alysha, Faith, and Masooma, among many, many others. I haven’t really explored any professional bloggers, so in the future, I would like to discover and learn from a wider variety of experienced, professional bloggers.
